Cloudy tumbler from the salt kiln

Salt-fired porcelain tumbler.

 The outside features a water etched design of clouds, with a dark blue slip. On top of this, a lively glaze is sprayed, interacting with the salt during firing giving matte and glossy areas, some subtle crystals and orange peel surface. On the side where the glaze is thicker the clouds run and drip in pearlescent colours.

The interior is finished with a glossy, transparent chun glaze, shifting between blue-grey and green, with occasional iridescent speckles and a fine crackle. It is smooth and pleasant to drink from. 

This tumbler comfortably holds 150 milliliters. The base is relatively thin, giving it a light and delicate feel in the hand.

With a rim diameter of 8 centimeters, a height of 6 centimeters, and weighing 140 grams, it is small, balanced, and comfortable to use.

This piece is food safe. Hand washing is recommended.
