Salt fired Crow bowl
This handcrafted stoneware bowl was thrown on the wheel and decorated with a playful sgraffito scene of crows tumbling and dancing. The rim and foot carry impressions from my own handmade stamps; small, quiet details that make each piece truly one of a kind.
It was salt-fired, a process that demands both patience and adventure; I drive three hours to reach the kiln where fire and salt shape their own unpredictable magic. Inside, a soft shino glaze brings a gentle warmth and subtle glow.
During firing, a small bit of kiln wash melted onto the inside of the bowl; a tiny imperfection that tells the story of its making. Because of that, this bowl is offered at a special reduced price.
Perfect as a serving piece, fruit bowl, or simply as an object to live with, full of character, texture, and a little touch of fire’s unpredictability.
